Editorial & Fact-Checking Policy
Our Commitment to Accuracy
MoneyJuan provides financial information that Filipinos use to make real decisions about their money. We take that responsibility seriously. Every article goes through research, writing, fact-checking, and review before publication.
Research Standards
Primary Sources First
We prioritize information directly from official sources:
- Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) announcements and regulations
- Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) guidelines
- Bank websites and official rate pages
- Government agency publications (SSS, Pag-IBIG, BIR)
- Company investor relations and press releases
Rate Verification
Interest rates, fees, and product features are verified from the financial institution's official website or app. We note the date of verification in articles. When rates change, we update the content.
Multiple Source Confirmation
For significant claims, especially about policies or regulations, we confirm information across at least two independent sources before publishing.
Writing Process
Plain Language Requirement
Our writers translate financial jargon into clear Filipino English. If a technical term is necessary, we define it. Complex concepts get broken down into understandable parts.
Realistic Examples
All peso amounts, salary examples, and scenarios reflect actual Filipino financial situations. We don't use theoretical examples that don't apply to our readers' lives.
Date Stamping
Every article includes publication and last update dates. Financial information changes, and readers deserve to know how current the content is.
Fact-Checking Process
Before Publication
- All numbers (interest rates, fees, limits) are verified against official sources
- Links to sources are checked and functional
- Product features are confirmed as currently available
- Regulatory information is cross-referenced with BSP or relevant agencies
Regular Reviews
We review published content quarterly to ensure rates, policies, and information remain accurate. When changes are detected, articles are updated and marked with the new date.
Corrections
When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article with the date of correction.
What We Don't Do
No Financial Advice
We provide information and education, not personalized financial advice. We're not licensed financial advisors, and our content should not be treated as professional financial planning.
No Guarantees
Financial products, interest rates, and policies can change. We provide accurate information as of our publication date, but we cannot guarantee that institutions won't change their terms.
No Legal or Tax Advice
When content touches on legal or tax matters, we present general information only. We always recommend consulting licensed professionals for specific situations.
Affiliate Disclosure
When we earn commissions from affiliate partnerships or sponsorships:
- We clearly disclose the relationship
- The partnership does not influence our factual reporting
- We only partner with legitimate, helpful products
- Reviews remain honest regardless of affiliate status
Source Citations
We link to official sources wherever possible. For rates and policies, we provide direct links to the bank or institution's page so readers can verify information themselves.
Contact for Corrections
Found an error? Contact us at contact@moneyjuan.com. We review all correction requests and update content when errors are confirmed.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently. Partners and advertisers do not review content before publication or influence our coverage. We choose what to write about based on what helps our readers, not what benefits partners.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be updated as MoneyJuan grows. We'll note the date of any significant changes. Last updated: February 2026.
